Boatyard Old Tom

A velvety smooth spirit from Northern Ireland's Boatyard Distillery, this gin is inspired by the "Old Tom" gins of days gone by - most popular in the late 1800s. Old Tom Gin is a sweeter style than most gins, and lighter, too. This expression is made using a gin base, the collected spirit rests in sherry casks where it obtains its natural sweetness and richness, and to finish the process a small amount of PX sherry is added which provides the velvety mouthfeel. The name Old Tom is a reference to the cat-shaped signs that hung outside of British pubs—which were referred to as “Old Toms.”
